Everyone in Carmarthenshire’s Fostering Service are bursting with pride for Maisie and Ellie Kiff who, last week were two out of six young people in the UK to receive a ‘Fostering Network Excellence Award’ for supporting children as part of their fostering family.
Anne Sturgess, Assistant Team Manager within Carmarthenshire’s Fostering Service, nominated Maisie and Ellie as a result of the excellent support they have given many children and young people over the years.
Anne, who works closely with the children of Carmarthenshire’s Foster Carers attended the award ceremony in London last week and said:
“In Carmarthenshire’s Fostering Service, we ensure that it’s not only Foster Carers who receive support from the Team. Children and young people who foster are an integral part of the fostering service and the support, stability and friendship that they provide for vulnerable children and young people cannot be underestimated.
Maisie and Ellie, along with all our children who foster are a hugely important part of our service and we could not do it without them. Maisie and Ellie deserve this award for the way that they have helped their Mum and Dad with caring for children over the years, some of whom have had complex physical needs.
Maisie and Ellie are shining examples of young people who foster and Carmarthenshire Fostering Service is very lucky to have them as part of our team’.
